1/00 - Present
maincampus.com
Hoboken, New Jersey
Director of Technology "We are to the new millennium's college audience what Rolling Stone was to the 60's counter culture."  Conceiving and implementing the technology to make real this mandate in the internet space is the scope of my current responsibilities.  I am the locus for all technology related decisions of the company which seeks to give a voice to the oft-ignored college demographic by publishing content authored by college students for consumption by college students.
6/95 - 1/99
Xionics Document Technologies
Burlington, Massachusetts
Advisor to Executive Management In this advisory role to the CEO and Board of Directors, I helped to provide a vision for and a direction to the company’s business interests, by leveraging the company’s core technologies into new media and Internet-related venues. In addition, I was instrumental in planning and executing Xionics' "Internet Appliance" business strategy. These efforts resulted in the creation of a new business unit within Xionics, whose charter was to develop and market a new Internet Appliance (code named NewsBoy) which would perform unattended, PC-less retrieval and printing of Web content for the consumer marketplace.
Manager of Engineering /
Chief Architect:
Internet Appliances
My responsibilities included the oversight of all levels of project planning, technical marketing, system architecture design (H/W & S/W), and engineering management for Xionics' first Internet Appliance, the NewsBoy, an Internet-enabled printing device to deliver a daily, personalized newspaper to the home. In addition, I was extensively involved in the development of the business plan, the selection of vendors and partners, the development of marketing materials and the execution of the sales strategy.
Manager of Engineering:
ASIC Verification
In addition to the above duties, I was also responsible for all levels of project planning and execution (including staffing, budgets, and reviews) for a rotating team of junior and senior software and hardware engineers engaged in the ASIC design verification process of Xionics' flagship microcontroller family, the XipChip.
Engineer
ASIC Verification
In this capacity, I was involved in the design verification and simulation of system and module-level functionality for the XipChip family of devices. Additionally, I was responsible for the design and implementation of bootstrapping code to bring up the XipChip ASIC device and its reference boards, and for the creation and management of the simulation environment.
Engineer
OS development / Hardware Design
My list of tasks in these roles was quite extensive, and will, therefore, be bullet delineated::
-- design and implementation of the MFP I/O subsystem
-- design of pSOS device drivers for FLASH file system, including downloader
-- design of socket and socket-stream simulations of parallel & serial I/O devices
-- design verification for Redwood reference board and coding of boot sequence
-- design of all logic and finite state machines for I/O and memory interfaces.
